According to a senior aid to Sarkozy, (Alain Minc), The French President thinks that Tony Blair is the only man who can help Europe stand up to the rest of the world. [Editors note: for 'stand up to' read join, become a province of the World Government]

Mince, (a political ‘Mr Fixit’ like Peter Mandelson), apparently made this remark when he was attending the Franco British Colloque, a high-powered discussion group of British and French politicians, civil servants and opinion-formers.

Descutions at the meeting are confidential, but apparently the Mail on Sunday has ‘established that Mr Minc used the meeting to win support for Mr Sarkozy’s campaign to ensure Mr Blair becomes the President of Europe’.

Mr Sarkozy’s support comes just after Tony Blair paid glowing tribute to the French President’s recent performance as the EU’s rotating president. Mr Blair said ‘Under his leadership, Europe looked as if it were acting in concert.’ Mr Blair’s remarks came while he was visiting Paris, officially to chair a conference for Mr Sarkozy on the economic crisis. However it is being seen as part of a charm offensive to boost his chances of winning the EU presidency.

At present there is no role of President of Europe but the post is due to be created some time next year when the EU’s controversial Lisbon Treaty/Constitution is ratified by Ireland and the Czech Republic, the two EU countries which have so far refused to do so.

According to the Mail on Sunday Mr Minc told the gathering,
‘When the Lisbon Treaty is ratified, Europe will move into a new phase. Europe will need a strong leader and Nicolas Sarkozy will nominate Tony Blair for the position.;

‘Tony Blair… will be a strong figurehead, is entirely respected around the world and will be a commanding leader at the helm of Europe.’

So – why is this important for Christians and why is it on Bible Matters. Well… just watching this space as it where. It is one more step towards a world government.

We have seen the manovering of Tony Blare into bigger things that the UK government for a long time. And we are in no way surprised by this news.
