Origins in Oxford, UK

Ray Comforts new edition

Ray Comforts new edition

We have been given the great privilege of joining with Ray Comfort and Living Waters and many, many volunteers to help distribute over 170,000 copies of Origin of Species.

I know you might be confused – “What? The Drappers are giving out Charles Darwin’s ‘Origin of Species’! You are joking?”

Well, I think it is only fair to give both sides of an argument. Ray Comfort, of Living Waters, has taken Charles Darwin’s original book and added a 50 page special introduction. This includes the History of evolution, Timelines of Darwin’s life, Intelligent Design vs. Evolution, as well as a clear gospel message.

Yesterday, Joel, Kirsty, Deborah, and I joined a team of around 20 others, organised by Paul Taylor of Answers in Genesis, to take the 150th Anniversary Special Edition “Origin of Species” book into Oxford to give out to University Students.

If you want to buy some copies to donate to your library or local school then you can buy them here.

You can see how God blessed us in Oxford in the video below. Read the rest of this entry »

Evangelism in Weymouth and Lyme Regis.
Jul 23rd, 2009 by Andrew Drapper

Andrew giving out Finding God's Way booksToday, (Thursday 23rd July), Deborah and I have had a fantastic time in Weymouth. We met up with Jim Henry of the Open Air Mission to do Street evangelism. His area of ministry is open air preaching which Deborah and I went to see. We wanted to learn just how he sets up, what he does, and generally how the OAM go about street work. We had a great time with him and have learned a little about the art of open air preaching.

Deborah and I spent most of the time we were there doing one to one evangelism and tract distribution. We both had a good time and many good conversations with people being brought to the point where they have an understanding of their need of forgiveness and that Jesus died for us. The Choice.
Jul 3rd, 2009 by Andrew Drapper

I was sent this great little track today by a friend of mime, thought I would pass it along.

If you want to know in more detail just what the message of the Bible is all about have a look at Finding God’s Way.

Send them forth by two and two
Nov 8th, 2008 by Andrew Drapper

Two people walking down a roadA few nights ago we were out in Dorset, England, doing outreach work among teenagers somewhat the worse for drink and cannabis. One of the recurring questions that they asked me was, “Do you ever let your children out on there own?” or some variant of that.

The answer was of course “Yes”. However, a more full answer might have been “Well, yes, where it is a respectable place – but there is no way that I would let just one of them come here with you!”

This set me thinking about the right and proper way for parents to manage their children’s freedom. We were out doing outreach or evangelism among the unbelieving teenagers of Dorset, and somewhat more than just unbelieving – they are – well depraved. They are into getting drunk, smoking cannabis (and some probably stronger drugs at times) and with, shall we say, lower morals with regard to sex and homosexual behaviour.

So here I think we should look first at Jesus’ instruction to his disciples when he sent them out. He first sent out the twelve, and then the 72, but both times he sent them out in twos. Read the rest of this entry »
