National Athiests Day
Mar 31st, 2009 by Andrew Drapper

National Atheists Day

April 1st

All Fools Day

We have recently received a complaint about all the religious holidays, Christmas, Easter, etc. We were asked why can we not have an Atheists Day. We replied you already have one April 1st.

“The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.”    Psalms 14:1 (KJV)

We love you atheists, keep coming, but who could resist a complaint like that.

However, in truth we do think it is foolish to say there IS NO GOD, just because with some hard work and a lot of imagination you can think of a way to explain the world by natural means. Just because you can come up with an explanation, do not mean that there is not God.

Followers Of Allah Commanded To Kill Everyone Who Is Not A Muslim!

Islamic Protestors

I recieved this by e-mail this week. I do not know the author, but believe the sentimants to be true.

Allah or the Lord Jesus Christ? The Muslim religion is by far the fastest growing religion in the UK .

Last month I attended my annual training session that’s required for maintaining my prison security clearance. During the training session there was a presentation by three speakers representing the Roman Catholic, Protestant and Muslim faiths, who explained each of their beliefs.

I was particularly interested in what the Islamic Imam had to say. The Imam gave a great presentation of the basics of Islam, complete with a video.

After the presentations, time was provided for questions and answers.

When it was my turn, I directed my question to the Imam and asked: Read the rest of this entry »

What a week!
Mar 13th, 2009 by Andrew Drapper

Following the transmission of ‘Deborah 13: Servant of God’ on Tuesday night, our life has been turned upside down!

The number of comment on Deborah’s blog www.deborahderapper.com just keeps rising and, as things stand we have no way to reply to these. Joel when he is free is trying to fix the theme, but he is busy with other projects.

Deborah’s email account is reaching something like melt down and we have had to work at separating her ordinary emails from the follow up to the BBC 3 programme.

We have several people trying to help us keep something of and eye on the growing number of forums that have sprung up discussing the programme and our family, or should I have just left it at dis-ing our family.

I was very surprised, (I know I should not have been), at the venom and anger on some of these. Richard Dawkins official website, (http://www.richarddawkins.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=75045&start=50) I had hoped would have been a mature site devoted to good science based on evidence. Some hope. It was full of angry, biased and often deeply offensive comments about Deborah and us. But worse has been the flood of people questioning Matthew’s sexuality.

They think that we base our faith in the Bible on faith and no evidence, but this is pure guess work.

TWO PEOPLE HAVE ACCEPTED CHRIST AS THEIR SAVIOUR HALILUYA! So Satan is probably not too pleased.

Deborah has been asked to go to Southampton on Monday for an interview on BBC Radio Solent at about 2:30 pm.

We very much value your prayers at this time.

Yesterday,  Premier Christian Radio asked if we would do a live interview for their Premier Drive Programme.

This happened rather quickly and some people did not know that the interview was on so here is a copy for those who missed it.

Deborah

UPDATE: you can now see the programme on BBC iplayer here.

I have not talked about this on Bible Matters before, intending to concentrate on the News and Bible. But our family is going to be on the BBC tonight. And it is probably about time I talked about it here.

The programme is a documentary about my daughter, (Deborah Drapper 13yr). It was filmed over about nine weeks of last summer. The first half looks at our family and the environment that Deborah has been brought up in. The second half concentrates on her heart to share the Gospel with the lost.

The programme will be going out tonight at 9:00pm (GMT), on BBC 3. and another 5 times this week. including Sunday, 15th at 8pm. You can find out more about the broadcast times on the bottom of Deborah’s web page on the BBC’s web stie here. Read the rest of this entry »

Catching Wild Pigs
Mar 6th, 2009 by Andrew Drapper

I received this in an email today. wild-pigIt is not dissimilar to the story of the Camel’s Nose, but the application makes this more appropriate.

“A chemistry professor in a large college had some exchange students in the class. One day while the class was in the lab the Professor noticed one young man (exchange student) who kept rubbing his back, and stretching as if his back hurt.

The professor asked the young man what was the matter. The student told him he had a bullet lodged in his back. He had been shot while fighting communists in his native country who were trying to overthrow his country’s government and install a new communist government.

In the midst of his story he looked at the professor and asked a strange question. He asked, ‘Do you know how to catch wild pigs?’

The professor thought it was a joke and asked for the punch line. The young man said this was no joke. ‘You catch wild pigs by finding a suitable place in the woods and putting corn on the ground. The pigs find it and begin to come everyday to eat the free corn. When they are used to coming every day Read the rest of this entry »

Further Efforts by the U.N. To Ban Criticizing Islam
Mar 6th, 2009 by Andrew Drapper

The Muslim-dominated nations at the United Nations are once again pushing for a religious “anti-defamation” bar worldwide. They are seeking to make all criticism of their founder Muhammad and his teaching illegal.

According to a report by CNN’s Lou Dobbs posted on YouTube, (see below), the proposal that has been repeatedly brought in recent years by the Organization of Islamic Conference states is expected to resurface as early as this spring.

This time, however, the resolution wouldn’t allow nations to opt out.

“The United Nations has adopted what it calls a Resolution to Combat Defamation of Religion,” Dobbs said in the report. “The U.N. now wants to make that anti-blasphemy resolution binding on member nations. That would make it a crime… to criticize religion, in particular, Islam.”

Constitutional lawyer Floyd Abrams said in the report, “What they would do would be to make it illegal to put out a movie or write a book or a Read the rest of this entry »

What Should We Teach Our Children About Sex?
Mar 5th, 2009 by Andrew Drapper

Alfie Patten on the cover of the Sun

Over the next few week a leaflet ”Talking to Your Teenager About Sex and Relationships” will be distributed in pharmacies across the UK as part of an initiative led by Beverley Hughes, the children’s minister.”

In it parents will be told that they should

avoid trying to convince their teenage children of the difference between right and wrong when talking to them about sex”

The leaflet advises: “Discussing your values with your teenagers will help them to form their own. Remember, though, that trying to convince them of what’s right and wrong may discourage them from being open.”

Discussing YOUR VALUES will help them form THEIR OWN!

Does no one in leadership in our land realize that the world does not work on everyone coming up with their own values! What we need is God’s values or standards.

Why? Why are my values not as valid or as useful as God’s? Read the rest of this entry »
