We have been looking at the news over the last few days and asking each other “are we seeing the news reporting of the last days of the world?”
Today, as I was buying Diesel I noticed the headline in the Times, ‘Dawn of new age of unrest’. They go on to report that more than 19 wildcat strikes flared across Britain yesterday in response to claims that British tradesmen were being barred from construction jobs by contractors using cheaper foreign workers. (Full front page image attached).
At one of these strikes about 1,000 protested gathered outside the Lindsey refinery at North Killingholme, Lincolnshire, to protest about Portugese workers.
No one is yet hungry, really poor or oppressed. What will happen when the downturn really begins to affect the lives of people in the UK? Read the rest of this entry »

BBC Says United States Faces Bankruptcy! Today, (well yesterday by the time I have posted this as i have had website problems), the BBC for the first time in my hearing have said that the USA is BANKRUPT!
On the Today Programme, the BBC’s flagship radio magazine programme, John Humphrys in an interview with the US ambassador to Brittan, Robert Tuttle turns the interview to the economy and says that
“The country [the US]is bankrupt.” John Humphrys

This is not a great scoop, but it is the first time I have heard the main streem media say that the US is bankrupt.
